Dragon lizards were created to be familiars for arcane casters. Unfortunately, they were somewhat smarter than their original creator anticipated, and they escaped easily. They are a relatively sentient being, though possess limited intelligence. They are known to grapple small prey and bite them until they are incapacitated, then eat their prey. They are primarily carnivorous, but also enjoy berries when they are in season.

Combat: Dragon lizards prefer flight to combat, but they can bite painfully, scratch and use their breath weapon once per day if there is no other option.

Skills: Dragon lizards have a +8 racial bonus on Balance checks. They also have a +8 racial bonus on Climb checks and can always choose to take 10 on Climb checks, even if rushed or threatened. Dragon lizards use their Dexterity modifier instead of their Strength modifier for Climb checks. Having been created using salamanders as their lizard form, as such, they retain the ability to breath underwater.
